German prosecutors have reportedly reopened a case against Bayern Munich player Jerome Boateng after new information emerged about his alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt following her suicide.

The case was initially opened in 2019, but was closed last summer after Lenhardt indicated she did not want to proceed with her claims.

The former German international is accused of assaulting her in October 2019, more than a year before their highly-publicized split which preceded the model’s tragic death.

Images of Lenhardt’s torn earlobe, an injury that resulted from an alleged assault by Boateng were shared on social media and quickly deleted hours before the 25-year-old model was found dead in a Berlin apartment.

“The proceedings were resumed on February 10, 2021, because we received new information as part of the death investigation in Berlin that could give indications of a possible continuation of the proceedings,” Anne Leiding, a member of the Munich prosecutor’s office, was quoted as saying.
The Polish model died by suicide just a week after breaking up with the German World Cup winner, whom she had been dating for more than a year.

Speaking about their breakup, Boateng accused the model of sabotaging his previous relationship with an ex-girlfriend named Rebecca, as well as blackmailing him into staying with her.

The news of Lenhardt’s sudden passing broke when Boateng was in Qatar preparing to play in the FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern.

He immediately left the team’s camp and returned to Germany after receiving the news.

The center-back, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and the Champions League with Bayern in 2013 and 2020, is also accused of assault in a separate case involving his ex-partner Sherin Senler, but the case is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

England defender Harry Maguire has been mocked by a Ghanaian MP who used a football analogy to describe the nation’s vice president.

Hon. Issac Adongo labelled the country’s Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as an “Economic Maguire”, likening his performance in the role to Maguire’s decline since joining Manchester United.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a Ghanaian economist and former central banker who serves as the 5th Vice President of Ghana in the 4th Ghanaian Republic.

“…tackling Manchester players and giving assists to opponents. Mr Speaker, when the opponent failed to score, Maguire will score for them,” Mr Adongo said, as laughter erupted in the chamber.

“Mr Speaker, you remember in this country we also have an economic Maguire.”

Mr Isaac Adongo is a Ghanaian politician and member of the 8th Ghanian Parliament representing the Bolgatanga Central Constituency in the Upper East Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. He was first elected in 2016 and he was re-elected in 2020.

Mօnᥱy doubler and spiritualist, Dr Patience Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been arrested.

Nana Agradaa, known for her moneymaking ritual, ‘sika gari’, was arrested by a joint team of Police and National Security Intelligence Operatives, in collaboration with the National Communications Authority on Tuesday night.

Two TV channels – Thunder TV and Ice1 TV – that allegedly broadcast money doubling content at Kasoa in the Central Region, were also shut down for operating without licenses.

The team seized two pieces of equipment each used in the alleged illegal transmission from both premises.

This was announced by the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful on her social media page on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

Information available suggests the TV channels owned by the self-styled traditional priestess have been operating without authorization for years leading to their closure.

The state’s action follows recent concerns about the broadcasting of inappropriate content in the media space by persons parading themselves as spiritualists

It is on the heels of the gruesome killing of an 11-year-old boy allegedly by two teenagers for money ritual purposes.

Below is the Minister’s full post:

“At about 2200hrs on 20/04/2021, a joint team of Police and National Security Intelligence Operatives, in collaboration with the National Communications Authority, stormed the premises of two satellite television stations, namely, Thunder TV and Ice1 TV, who were illegally transmitting without licenses, at Kasoa in the Central Region

The team arrested the offenders among which included the owner of Thunder TV, Patience Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, and seized two (2) pieces of equipment each used in the illegal transmission from both premises. Nana Agradaa advertises her “Sika Gari” on her TV station, which she claims is her personal god that multiplies money with some rituals she makes. She has hence admitted to this illegality and is currently in custody assisting with further investigations.

The influx of unregulated television stations on air has led to the promotion of certain content which may affect public order, public morality, and the rights and reputation of others. As such, efforts are underway to rid the system of this canker and reduce overcrowding on Ghana’s airwaves.”
